As the U.S. invaded America, scientists noticed that another form of it was spreading rapidly in Europe and Asia. Its existence is already strong in India, say the scientists of that country.
It has been named Omicron BA-2. It is also found in the United States California, Texas, and Washington. Many speculate that its spread will gradually increase. And it could be more contagious than Omicron's predecessor, says Emma Hood Croft, an epidemiologist at the University of Bern. It may have minor benefits, BA-2 may be a little more contagious (1-3 percent). The question is, will this difference prolong the Omicron wave?
What then BA-2? M Hood Croft says it could be called the brother of Omicron-1. From Omicron-1 it is involved in a bunch of mutations (30-60 percent). And the rest is its own.
