Drinking too much sugar increases the risk of bowel and rectal cancer. That's according to a study by the School of Medicine at the University of Washington.
The average age of colon and rectal cancer infection 3-4 years ago was 72 years. But in the last few years, the average age has come down to 7. To answer the question of why the average age is declining, a group of researchers at the University of Washington began a study. That is why this information has come up.
Studies have shown that people who start drinking extra sweet or sugary drinks at an early age have an increased risk of developing this type of cancer. People who drank 200 milliliters or more of sweetened beverages per day had a 16 percent increased risk of bowel and rectal cancer.
Scientists conducted this study on 1 lakh 17 thousand 500 people who were diagnosed with this type of cancer at a young age. It has been found that almost all of these victims have been drinking extra sweet drinks for a long time. The average person between the ages of 20 and 34 is found to drink the most amount of this drink. Even if you give up the habit of drinking this kind of drink later on, its effects remain on the body. This increases the chances of getting infected at an early age.
The study says that as children get older, especially between the ages of 13 and 18, if they become addicted to the drink, many of them develop it before they reach the age of 50.
