There are very few people who have not suffered from back pain at least once in their life.  Various aspects of this pain are discussed in the fourth episode of Satkahan dedicated to the special health program SKF. Sharif Ahmed Junaid, Assistant Professor and Orthopedic, Trauma and Spine Surgeon, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Nito, and Anika Rabbani, Yoga Instructor and Health Coach, Founder of Yoga Institute, Yoganika, were the guests at the event.  Cricketers have a subtle risk of back pain. Md. Ashraful was asked what he used to do when he was in pain. In response, he said, ‘I was quite lucky, because I have suffered very few injuries in my career. Generally, those who are overweight and do extra work or training are the ones who suffer the most from back pain. Whenever there was any kind of pain, our physio would always follow his advice. '


Yoga can be done to reduce back pain. Anika Rabbani said that there are many seats that can be used to relieve pain. These include Cobra Pose or Bhujangasana, Child Pose or Balasan etc. One of the main causes of back pain in the elderly or those who sit in the office all day is less movement or less walking or working.


If you want to avoid these, you have to increase physical activity. With that, the back and waist should be strengthened. Regarding this, Anika Rabbani said, there is no need to do yoga for this. There are a number of exercises that will increase the strength of the back and waist. Such as the Dead Lift.  Doing this regularly strengthens the whole back, reducing the chances of pain.


 

 Every person has a 60 to 70 percent chance of back pain in their life, said Sharif Ahmed Junaid. He added that in 95 percent of the cases, the pain gets better only if some rules are followed. This means that in most cases it does not require special treatment or surgery. Low back pain is caused by muscle and bone imbalances.  This imbalance can be caused by over stress or under stress.  Athletes who suffer from sprains or injuries to their muscles. And in the case of ordinary people, if the physical labor is reduced, the muscles become weak. Weakness puts pressure on the nerves of the disc between the two bones. This is why there is pain.


 There is no substitute for proper posture and healthy living to prevent back pain. Weight control, walking vigorously for 30 to 40 minutes every day, walking for two or three minutes after sitting for one hour straight, sitting for two or three minutes after standing for one hour straight, getting proper sleep, exercise or yoga but avoiding pain  Possible.


 Speaking on the occasion, Sharif Ahmed Junaid said that painkillers should never be taken without a specific reason and without the advice of a doctor. Taking pain medication without a prescription is often seen, patients often suffer from kidney problems. He also advised about eating habits for bone health. He said there should be a balance of weight according to height. Being overweight will cause pain. Eating habits are very important for this. Eat less sugary foods like rice, sugar, bread, potatoes. Caffeine, alcohol, etc. should be eliminated if possible or take less according to the doctor's instructions. In addition, stressful conditions should be avoided.
