Will I go to the sun or not?  Such thoughts come to mind from home.  There are reasons for that.  These are harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun, skin burns, sweating, etc.  However, the sun is a great benefit to the skin.  Makes vitamin D.  If the body has enough vitamin D, it makes potassium, magnesium and calcium.  That is why Vitamin D is called 'Sunshine Vitamin'.  But how does the skin get vitamin D?  This vitamin is made from the cholesterol in the skin when it comes in contact with the sun.  But the question remains, how much sun is needed and what is the right way to stay in the sun?

Why Vitamin D is beneficial

In addition to skin, this vitamin is essential for bones and teeth.  Vitamin D is also beneficial for immunity, nervous system and brain.  In addition, vitamin D helps to solve the problem of type 2 diabetes and some types of cancer.

Why it is needed for the skin

Vitamin D has several types of benefits for the skin.  This vitamin works to glow, grow and repair rough and lifeless skin, increase skin immunity, remove age marks, reduce acne, reduce fine lines and dark spots.

The amount of vitamin D needed

Take a certain amount of vitamin D every day.  If you are in the sun for extra vitamin D, you will have the opposite.  There are two ways to measure vitamin D.  One is the Microgram (MCG) and the other is the International Unit (IU).  According to the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine, children and adolescents need 600 IU or 15 mcg of vitamin D per day.

When to go to the sun

The right time to go out in the sun just before noon.  Because at this time the sun has more heat.  So in a short time you will get the necessary vitamin D for the skin.  According to various studies, the body is most suitable for taking vitamin D during this time.  Another study found that going out in the sun after mid-day is even more harmful.  This increases the risk of skin cancer.

10 to 30 minutes of exposure to the sun provides daily essential vitamin D

If you stay in the sun for 10 to 30 minutes, you can get the necessary vitamin D every day

Necessary vitamin D is not available in the sun.  Rather the correct rules must be obeyed.  If you stay in the sun for 10 to 30 minutes, you can get the necessary vitamin D every day.  At this time you should wear thin sleeves as short as possible, so that the sun shines directly on you.  If you do not want to put the sun on your face, you can sit with your back to the sun.  If the skin is not very sensitive, if you sit in the sun for some time without sunscreen, the skin will get more vitamin D.  In addition, if you want, you can sit in the sun even after wearing sunglasses and hat.

 More sun damage

Sunburn can cause darkening of the skin and many other problems.  Such as redness, pain, itching, rash, swelling etc. in some places of the skin.  Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause severe damage to the retina of the eye by ultraviolet rays (UV rays).  This leads to cataract problems in the eyes.  If there is a lot of time in the sun, the skin gets the impression of fast age.  Problems such as wrinkles, loosening and cracking of the skin occur.  Too much sun UV rays are responsible for skin cancer.  So just 10 to 30 minutes of sunshine throughout the day is enough for vitamin D.
