Be careful if there are cuts, small wounds, blisters or abscesses, swollen feet, red skin or nail problems.

If you have diabetes, you don't want to heal it if you have a small cut or a wound.  Nerves are damaged due to high blood sugar.  The feeling disappears.  Even if the leg is injured, the affected person does not get pain.  That is why small wounds can cause invisible wounds.  In addition, the blood flow in the blood vessels of the diabetic patient is reduced, so it takes time to dry the wound.  All in all, small wounds take on complex shapes.  There may even be gangrene in the legs.  Sometimes the legs may have to be amputated.  So diabetic patients need to take care of their feet.

Regular foot monitoring

Observe the feet from time to time every day.  Be careful if there are cuts, small wounds, blisters or abscesses, swollen feet, red skin or nail problems.  There is a lot of fungus between the two fingers.  So the gap between the toes should be well looked at.  Use mirrors if necessary.

Keep feet clean

Every day you have to clean your feet with lukewarm water.  More hot water cannot be used.  After washing the feet, wipe the feet well with a dry cloth or tissue paper.  If you get dirty on the outside, you have to wash it quickly.

Maintain moisture

Sweating is reduced when there is a neurological disorder.  As a result, the feet may become dry and rough.  Dry feet often get bruised.  For that, after cleaning and drying the feet, apply petroleum jelly or olive oil.

Caution when cutting nails

First you have to cut the nails straight.  Then cut the two edges.  Can't cut too deep.  If you turn and cut the nails, the skin can be cut a lot of times.  When making the nails shorter, care should be taken not to injure the skin.

 Shoe selection

Never walk barefoot.  Not even at home.  When you go out, you should wear comfortable, soft sole covered shoes.  Shoes should not be too tight or loose.  Socks should be washed and dried well every day.
