In the last one to one and a half years, the coronavirus has changed many times. Many of the symptoms and problems that were common in the early days have changed in recent years. For example, at first the taste and smell of the food was completely lost, sore throat, cough - these were one of the symptoms of covid. Some were found to have red eyes, conjunctivitis. At one time, some people were seen to have covid just because of symptoms like stomach ache and diarrhea.
In the recent wave of corona we have noticed that many of the previous symptoms in people with corona have faded. On the contrary, symptoms like cold-cold, headache, body aches, runny nose with fever are appearing at an early stage. Much like seasonal flu. But why this change?
There are two reasons for frequent symptoms. First, a virus goes through some changes due to its long-term presence in any environment. This is called mutation. Genetic mutations in the virus occur and new types emerge. We have heard of various types of mutations. Recently, we have also received news that Delta is infecting more areas in the Indian border areas of the country. So with the change of type, the nature of the attack is also changing.
Second, the long-term nature of the infection also develops a kind of immunity in people in the infected area. This immunity develops for two reasons - post-infection or vaccination. So the symptoms of virus infection also start to change.
However, whatever the initial symptoms, covid can damage someone's lungs, reduce oxygen saturation, increase blood clotting, and can lead to complications, even death.
In all, there are three types of recent infections
1. This variant or new type of infection is also affecting relatively young people at a massive rate, which has not been seen before. There are many reports of children and adolescents being infected. And the big difference with the past is that not only the elderly and the sick, but also the young and middle-aged are suddenly deteriorating. Being hospitalized or needing oxygen.
2. This type of infection is much more contagious than before, meaning that it has spread rapidly in various studies. Too many people from the same family or neighborhood, place or workplace are being attacked together. As a result, there is more pressure on the medical system in each area.
3. People with this type of infection are going through more complicated situations in less time than before. This means that even if it looks like a common fever, cold, flu, many times the oxygen is depleted or complications occur before the test results are received. Earlier, the patient was seen to have complications from the first day of fever to seven to eight days. Now it can be seen in three to four days. That is why the patient or the family is in sudden danger without any preparation.
