The United States will provide 2.5 million modern vaccines to Bangladesh under the Global Vaccine Alliance Covax.

Earl Miller, the US ambassador to Dhaka, tweeted this information on Saturday afternoon.

Earl Miller wrote in his tweet, ‘I am happy to announce that the American people will vaccinate Bangladesh with 2.5 million doses of modern corona through Gavi.  As the largest supplier of Covax, the United States is committed to increasing the supply of ticks around the world to combat corona.

By the way, Bangladesh is on the list of 30 million tickers allocated by the United States for various countries through Covax and directly.  On June 22, the White House announced that it would provide 18 million new vaccines to 18 countries in South Asia, including Bangladesh, as well as 18 countries in Asia, through CoVAX, a global coronary vaccine initiative.  Besides, Bangladesh is also on the list of 14 million vaccines that the United States will directly give to 30 other countries and alliances in the world.

On June 3, the White House announced the distribution of 2.5 million vaccines.  Bangladesh has been included in the list of countries where 8 million vaccines will be given for Asian countries.

The vaccine that the United States will supply from its stockpile will be produced by Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.  However, with the approval of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the coronavirus vaccine produced by AstraZeneca will also be included in the list.
